The role: Senior Data Architect:
The current working positions of Data and Insight teams at the British Airways are crucial for the airline’s development since they provide significant reporting and analytical support in almost every area of the company’s activity. With the airline transitioning more to cloud the capabilities of this team in terms of data science and business intelligence are even more valuable today. This department is in high demand of new and better data in BA, IAG and our alliances making this department a key enabler for innovation and change in our digital journey.
What you’ll do:
• Be responsible for supplying all the leadership in the modeling and integration of data throughout the BA entire data storage environment.
• Those experts have to offer consultations and directions by sharing business-related information with BA colleagues, such as goals, expectations, data, and procedures as well as technology.
• Oversee the development of data product strategy for the designated business units in consultation with technical, analytical and business departments.
• Coordinates the architectural activities in Data and Business Intelligence so as to ensure that they incorporate the right practices and methods.

• Outstanding performance in the leadership of data architecture, and business intelligence initiatives.
• Coherent and rational thinking that means the ability to solve problems effectively, if there are any weaknesses here it would be that they are not expressed consistently in the content.
• Knowledge of the modern cloud platforms (e. g. AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and how they can be utilized in Data Science and Machine Learning.
• Effective communication and adequate interpersonal skills in relation to managing relationships with stakeholders and identifying how data strategy can be implemented for business value.
Your experience:
• Best radar strategies in large-scale data architectural initiatives execution.
• The general knowledge about data integration tools, ETL workflows, and the current approaches to data storage.
• Familiar with the most common programming languages, in particular python and SQL, as well as knowing the basics of DevOps in data structures.
